Oneword is finally back from The Land of Endless Pane. It’s my own personal wakeup cattle prod. Time to get started writing again. I’m definitely rusty. Don’t worry, though — they can only get better.
A morose mood was on him today. A feeling of belonging to nowhere in particular. Time was crawling past and there was nothing for it but to sit and watch. He had his act together, was ready to go.

January 30th, 2006 at 12:56 pmi love oneword — but i, too, was painfully tired of “pane” over and over. when visiting a site for writing inspiration, it rarely requires that much work. for a solid month (or two? or three?) oneword required you to search deep within to use the word “pane” again and again and trick yourself into acting like its the first time you’ve seen it! which, in a bizarre way, is a writing exercise of some sort. i’m just not sure which sort.

February 1st, 2006 at 12:10 pmI tried “pane” twice and that was all I could take. It was the toughest word I’d seen yet. Coming up with a new one, every day for a month, would have been interesting, in a pull-my-fingernails-out kind of way.
