Oneword is finally back from The Land of Endless Pane. It’s my own personal wakeup cattle prod. Time to get started writing again. I’m definitely rusty. Don’t worry, though — they can only get better.
A morose mood was on him today. A feeling of belonging to nowhere in particular. Time was crawling past and there was nothing for it but to sit and watch. He had his act together, was ready to go.
This has gone on way too long.
We all know that January is typically a very busy month. Everything that doesn’t get done while we’re out partying in December lands in our inbox on January 2. So, in January, everything that isn’t URGENT!! sits on the back burner, getting black and crusty, until you’d rather throw it out than look at it anymore. My finances have been neglected for a couple of months now. The receipts and papers pile up and I just want them all to go away. This site has been a casualty as well. I’m terrified of looking at my stats. I just know that the joke I’ve been making about having three readers is all too true.
43 Folders is down right now, but the other day they mentioned this phenomenon — projects that accumulate cruft until we cringe just thinking of them. One tip they mentioned is to just jump in and do something. Anything. Set a timer if you have to, but make some progress. Hopefully it’ll be enough to overcome the paralysis.
So I have a lot of work to do and very little time to write. BFD. I can write a post in five minutes, if I resist the urge to tinker with it until it looks presentable.
This is no gem of a post, but it’s a step. If you’re still out there, stick around. More small steps to follow.
